Dear CTS members and partners,

Since 2008, CTS has established itself as one of the most specialized health technology accelerators. As a pioneer in its field, it has developed extensive specialization in various medtech and digital health sectors, ranging from medical imaging to digital therapeutics. As it marks its 15th anniversary, CTS is celebrating a decade and a half of success as an à la carte accelerator designed to meet start-ups’ challenges and needs through customized acceleration services. In tandem with accelerators, incubators, and other active ecosystem partners, CTS supports companies through critical market-entry and financing stages. It does so by facilitating access to a complex and dynamic ecosystem of key players in medicine and business.

Steering CTS’s course forward is its active Board of Directors, whose dedicated members fully appreciate the importance of the healthcare technology sector in Québec. All Board members are committed to growing the startups accelerated through CTS and furthering the organization’s programs and activities.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of four inspiring women to the CTS Board of Directors. As part of our sustained commitment to supporting CTS’s growth and consolidating our standout position within Québec’s entrepreneurial health-tech ecosystem, we are delighted to welcome these exceptional individuals whose drive and expertise are a boon to our organization.

We welcome Julie Bergeron, a passionate, visionary, and prominent healthcare business leader who has won several awards for leadership and marketing excellence. Julie has more than 19 years’ experience in sales, marketing, and business development in the healthcare sector. She is currently Director of Corporate Accounts at Johnson & Johnson and has also worked in the innovative SaaS sector at Petal, where she led the transformation of healthcare solutions as Senior Vice President, Strategy, Partnerships, and Access. She began her career as a sales representative at Boehringer Ingelheim, before joining Medtronic where she progressed to Marketing Director, leading vast teams and exceeding financial targets. She went on to fill leadership roles, helping to coach, develop, and empower others to achieve results. Julie holds a Bachelor in Marketing and International Business from Concordia University and a Master of Business Administration from Université du Québec à Montréal.

We welcome Anouk Robillard, who after an initial career in investment banking (RBC and UBS Warburg) in the tech space, both in Canada and in Europe, she spent the rest of her career in corporate development (Aimia, Accenture and BDC) leading strategy, business development, innovation, and product development.  She is now an angel investor, an advisor to startups and Board member. She is leveraging her knowledge in technology, customer experience, data insights (AI), product positioning and ESG. She believes in great balance between growth vision, planning & commercialisation, and economic model. She loves to be surrounded of humans with good values, smart ideas with the courage to turn them into actions.

We also welcome Chantal Brunet, Investment Fund Manager at Desjardins Capital. Chantal is in charge of investment activities in private equity funds. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the investment sector. She has solid expertise in financing innovative Québec companies and managing investment funds. Prior to joining Desjardins Capital, Chantal held a number of positions at Société Innovatech Québec, including Vice-President of the Life Sciences Investment Group. She has also led a number of strategic projects focusing on innovation and fostering the development of university research. She holds a doctorate in immunology, an MBA, and a certificate in corporate governance.

Also joining us is Geneviève Drolet, as an observing member and representative of Québec’s ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie (MEIE). Geneviève is an anthropologist specializing in both strategic and business intelligence who has been active in the field of innovation for 20 years. Her experience has enabled her to develop advanced skills in strategic analysis, team management, entrepreneurship, and open innovation. She has worked closely with research and innovation organizations, incubators, accelerators, universities and colleges, researchers, funding agencies, Crown corporations and government departments, entrepreneurs, and start-ups. Her experience at two Québec government bodies, namely Conseil de la science et de la technologie and Bureau du sous-ministre adjoint à l’innovation, led to her high-level advisory role. In 2015, she co-created the “Startup Québec” initiative at the province’s ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation, a program inspired by best practices from around the world and developed in close collaboration with the province’s start-up ecosystem. In 2019, she led the creation of Incubators and Accelerators Driven by Excellence (IADE) initiative for Canada Economic Development.

The extensive expertise and passion for innovation of these four women are sure to be precious assets in supporting our mission and making our vision a reality: to become one of Canada’s most successful healthtech technology accelerators, creating national flagships who will help delivering on the promise of 4P (predictive, preventive, personalised and participatory) medicine.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Chantal Brunet, Julie Bergeron, and Anouk Robillard as the CTS board, along with Genevieve Drolet, the MEIE nominated observer. These new members have a solid track record that will bring a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience from the healthcare and medical device sectors, financial sectors, investors sectors that will ensure the CTS board remains focused on how to best help ensure promising Quebec medical technology companies achieve early commercial success and contribute to the growth of our Quebec medtech ecosystem.”
