Montreal, October 2016 – As part of the partnership between Desjardins – Innovatech and the Health Technology Campus (CTS), an investment of $ 250,000 is granted by Desjardins – Innovatech to Biomomentum inc. The objective is to increase the commercialization of a range of high-performance mechanical testers for the characterization of biomaterials and biological tissues while offering mechanical testing services in the laboratory.

According to Martin Garon, President of Biomomentum, “this investment by Desjardins-Innovatech and the support of CTS come at the right time to support our ambitious international marketing projects for our medical instruments. ”

“CTS and Desjardins – Innovatech are investing in the future with Biomomentum, supports Guillaume Hervé, Chairman of CTS. The specialization of the company opens the doors of the international market that we wish to conquer with an adapted development process. ”

First, the arthroscopic Arthro-BST â„¢ probe used for the accurate and non-destructive evaluation of articular cartilage to calculate a quantitative parameter that reflects the biochemical composition and mechanical properties of the cartilage. Then the Mach-1 â„¢, a multiaxial mechanical tester that can perform tests in compression, tension, shear and torsion for precise characterization or mechanical stimulation of cartilage or other soft tissues or materials.

The objective of the intervention of DESJARDINS – INNOVATECH, through the CTS and the investment of $ 250,000, is to strengthen the marketing effort, in order to complete a new phase of marketing development at the international level for their products and services having already demonstrated their commercial potential.
